Just finished my third 2 day Ceramics workshop up at Jackie Sedlock Pottery. It was great fun and I had 10 dreamy students ! The theme : Heads, their thoughts and dreams.The sculptures were wildly different and everyone worked very hard. I enjoy teaching the mix of beginners and advanced.

A New Year!

Happy New Year!
2018 is going to be a very good year. Lots of studio time and travel!

I was awarded a Martha Boschen Porter Fund grant through The Taconic Community Foundation.
This will enable me to travel to Sicily and research ancient sculptures. I am most interested in seeing the sculptures of Demeter and Persephone. I am busy planning this trip which will take place in early May.

It's been awhile.....

A lot has changed in my life. For the past 2 years I have gone back to the figure. No more dinnerware or tiles. Focusing on figurative ceramics has been good for me. I took a workshop last year and then again last month with Debra Fritts, an amazing sculptor in new Mexico. To say it was life changing sounds hyperbolic but it was. I will start posting new work in a few weeks, Until then here are some photos that have been inspiring me.
